  • One of the requirements you must satisfy for the grant of a UK visit visa is to show that you have sufficient funds to maintain yourself for the duration of your stay. This is of course linked to your personal circumstances. You must be able to show that you have sufficient funds to pay for your maintenance. The law does not set any minimum amount you must have in your account. Having a large bank balance does not necessarily mean that you have sufficient funds; neither is a low bank balance dispositive of insufficient funds.

    • UK visa invitation letter. (If applicable). If you will be staying over at a friend or a family member, then you should submit a letter of invitation. Your host must be a UK national or a legal resident.
    • Certified translations of any document that is not in English.

    • Professional entertainer taking part in a charity concert or show for which the organisers are not making a profit and no fee is to be paid to the entertainer, or
    • professional entertainer taking part in a charity concert or show for which the organisers are not making a profit and no fee is to be paid to the entertainer. You should make your application at your local British Embassy or Consulate, bringing with you a genuine invitation from the UK events organiser, evidence that you can live in the UK without recourse to public funds, and evidence of your return journey out of the UK;
    • Professional entertainer taking part in a charity concert or show for which the organisers are not making a profit and no fee is to be paid to the entertainer, or

  • Whilst you are here on a Entertainer Visa you are not allowed to receive payment unless it is for performing at a permit free listed festival or if payment is from taking part in a music competition.

    If you are coming to the UK for any other paid performance you will have to apply for a Tier 5 Temporary Work Visa.

  • A person can stay in the UK for a maximum time of 6 months under UK Entertainer Visit visa. However he may be able to extend his stay by switching to the Tier 5 (Temporary Worker: Creative and sporting) visa. If the applicant is able to prove that he/she needs to visit the UK several times over a longer period he/she can also apply for a long term visit visa. A long term visit visa holder can stay for a maximum period of 6 months on each visit while his/her visa can last for 1, 2, 5 or 10 years.

    • It is strongly advised that not to make any unncessary, unwanted correspondence with UKVI British High Commission during the processing period of visa application unless there is subsequent significant changes arose in your circumstances or you want to widthdraw your application.

  • The Tier-4 Child Student visa category is for non-EEA nationals aged between 4 and 17 years old who wish to study in the UK. If you are aged 18 or over and wish to complete a course of study in the UK then you should apply for a Tier 4 Student Visa visa instead.

  • One can apply for a Parent of Tier 4 child visa if his/her child is attending an independent fee-paying day school in the UK. The visa usually lasts for 6 or 12 months. Afterwards, a parent can extend the visa for 12 months at a time, as long as he/she continues to meet the eligibility requirements.

    A visa for a shorter period could be granted and the applicant won’t be able to extend the visa if the child is going to:

    • have his/her 12th birthday in the next 12 months; or
    • finishes his/her final year at school in the next 12 months.

    A parent is required to leave the United Kingdom upon expiry of the visa and can’t switch to a different visa category. If the child is staying in education in the UK without the parent then the parent has the responsibility to make necessary arrangements for the ongoing care of the child in the UK.

  • This visa will need to be applied for from the child’s country of residence.

    The applicant must show that they have been accepted onto a course at an independent, fee-paying school. They must also have written consent from their parent or legal guardian.

    Proof of appropriate living funds, which cover the child’s study period in the UK must be provided. In addition, identification documents and a lengthy application form must also be submitted.

  • Tier 4 (Child) student visa is for children between four and 17 years of age who come to the UK to study at an independent fee-paying school.

    Tier 4 (Child) student can come to the UK up to one month before the start date of the course.

    For the parents who send their children to British private schools it may be worth noting that after 10 years of continuous residence in the UK the child may qualify for indefinite leave to remain.

    A Tier 4 (Child) student visa may be extended without the child leaving the country if the existing visa runs out less than one calendar month before the start date of the new course. If the start date of the new course is more than one month after the expiry of the existing visa, the child has to leave the UK and apply for entry clearance from the country of residence.

  • Tier-4 (Child) Student has to demonstrate that funds are available to cover the full fee of the course or that the course fees have been paid.

    It is also required to demonstrate that adequate funds are available for the child’s accommodation.

    The amounts depend on the possible care arrangements for the child.

  • Boarding school fees will include accommodation and maintenance fees. There is no requirement to demonstrate any additional financial requirements.

  • If the child is to be placed with a UK resident carer, the intended carer should have at least £570 per month to look after and accommodate the child for the duration of the course to a maximum of nine months.

    One parent or a legal guardian may accompany a child under the age of 12 to the UK. They need to demonstrate £1560 for each month of the duration of the course for a maximum of nine months, plus any outstanding school fees. Each additional child in the care of the same parent should demonstrate the availability of additional £625 per month for living costs.

    The rules around child student visa may be quite complex and it is important that all extension applications are made in a timely fashion.

  • The visa would normally be granted for the duration of the course. There is no time limit on how long a child can study in the UK from the age of four to the age of eighteen.

  • Visit visas are normally valid for six (6) months, one (1) year, two (2) years and five (5) years. The visas are valid for unlimited journeys within the validity period of the visa. However, applicants of visit visas may only remain in the UK for a maximum of six (6) months on any one visit, or until the visa expires if less than six months. Applicants may not remain (without further permission) in the UK after the “valid until” date on the visit visa, even if this is less than six (6) months.

  • There is no specific limit on the number of visits an applicant can make to the UK, such as a definitive rule which states that a visitor can only remain in the UK for '6 months in 12 month period’ rule. But visitors must not be living in the UK for extended periods because of frequent, successive visits and they cannot live in the UK on a continuous basis even if this is punctuated by short absences from the UK to avoid overstaying.

  • Applicants are not allowed to enter or stay in the United Kingdom to receive free medical treatment from the NHS (National Health Service). They should ensure that they have enough medical insurance to cover their stay in UK.

    However, the applicants while on visitor visa in UK may be able to register with a General Practitioner (GP) in their area and receive free prescribed basic treatment. The GP can decide whether or not to register them. Applicant may not be able to receive the full range of hospital treatment, because they must be a permanent resident or have lived here for a year to qualify for it.
